All About Canada is a comprehensive Grade 2 social studies unit that introduces students to the geography, people, symbols, and cultural diversity of Canada. Through teacher‑directed lessons, reproducible booklets, mapping activities, phonics cards, reading passages, and creative writing tasks, students explore provinces and territories, capital cities, landforms, Canadian animals, and national symbols such as the maple leaf, RCMP, and the Canadian flag. The resource also includes detailed teacher background information, vocabulary charts, and hands‑on centres that support literacy, numeracy, and inquiry‑based learning.
The unit emphasizes Canada’s multicultural identity, Indigenous and Inuit communities, and the varied ways people live, work, and play across the country. Students learn to use maps and globes, compare communities, understand seasonal changes, and recognize the importance of Canadian traditions and celebrations. With its blend of informational text, engaging activities, and cross‑curricular connections, All About Canada provides a rich, developmentally appropriate foundation for understanding Canada’s heritage, geography, and national identity.
