Canadian Comprehension: Grades 1–2 Social Studies & Literacy is a comprehensive, classroom‑ready resource that blends engaging fiction and nonfiction texts with purposeful reading, writing, and critical‑thinking activities. Students follow recurring characters—Ben, Lily, and Santos—as they explore key Social Studies themes including family roles, community helpers, rules and responsibilities, cultures, traditions, travel, transportation, shelter, climate, and countries of the world.

Each section includes leveled passages, reading‑for‑detail tasks, sequencing, inference, prediction, descriptive writing, recount writing, and classification activities. The resource supports early literacy development while directly reinforcing Social Studies expectations across Canada.

Teachers will appreciate the ready‑to‑use worksheets, clear skill focus, and authentic Canadian content that helps students build identity, cultural awareness, and understanding of their place in the world.

Perfect for whole‑class instruction, guided reading, literacy centres, or Social Studies integration.
