Teaching children how to be safe is an ongoing lesson. Your students will learn about safety in the following areas: fire, traffic, electrical, water, strangers, medical, animals, nature, and more!
These activities develop basic literacy skills including reading comprehension, creative writing, phonics, as well as critical thinking, and problem-solving. 80+ information cards and activities will help students apply problem solving techniques!
Learning Expectations: Students will be able to:
- list safety procedures and practices used in the home, school and
- identify safety rules to be followed in the home, school and the community such as school yard safety, bus safety, electrical
- outline safety rules and safe
- explain relevant safety procedures such as fire drills, crosswalk and railway crossing procedures.
- use a problem-solving process to identify ways of obtaining support for safety in the home, at school and in the community
