Sight Words & Phonics Book 2 builds foundational reading skills for early learners by teaching Dolch Sight Words 61–120 alongside long‑vowel phonics patterns. Each unit introduces ten sight words, a targeted long‑vowel sound, and multiple reinforcement activities such as tracing, matching, puzzles, fill‑in‑the‑blank sentences, and short decodable stories. Students practice context clues, word recognition, spelling, plurals, suffixes, and sentence writing, all of which support early literacy development.

The workbook’s structured, predictable format helps emerging readers build confidence and fluency. Activities gradually increase in complexity, ensuring students master sight words while applying phonics skills in meaningful reading and writing tasks. The included assessments, checklists, and story time pages allow teachers to monitor progress and ensure mastery before moving on. The resource aligns with Canadian provincial/territorial literacy standards and U.S. Common Core Grade 1 Foundational Skills.

Designed for emerging readers and readers having difficulty or requiring review at any level.

The six units will assist you with building and improving reading skills through the introduction of the Dolch Sight Words 61-120 and the reinforcement of important Phonics skills. At the same time, short vowel sounds are introduced and reinforced.

Each unit introduces 10 sight words that are broken up into 2 lists of 5. In between each list, a short vowel is introduced. Sight Words and vowels are then reinforced through short sentences and revision activities that follow.

To end the unit the student reads a short story that only contains words they have learned and practiced.
